It's Thanksgiving Day here in the U.S. so I'm going to keep this entry short but still appropriate for this blog.
We set this day aside to spend with family and friends and to give thanks for the many blessings we have in our lives. I am grateful for many things including the many artistic family members and friends in my life. My family includes painters, carvers, and poets. My friends include painters, poets, actors, writers, novelists, and many musicians. I'm blessed to know them all and thankful that they also return my affection and respect.
I am also thankful for the many non-artists in my life. Every artist needs an audience. We also need people around us who are far more practical than we typically are to give us balance and perspective. People who continue to accept us no matter how quirky we may look to them.
And finally I am thankful for you, gentle reader. Many of you are regular readers, some are subscribers, some just drop in from time to time. But still you take time out from your busy lives to mull over my musings. Your attention is appreciated.
I wish you well on this day. Please take time to love the people in your life and embrace the art that surrounds you.
